Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) aims to contribute to securing a safe society by reducing the incidence of death, injury and damage to property from fire and other emergencies.

Berkshire Unitary Authorities

The county of Berkshire is split into six unitary authorities which have elected members who form the Fire Authority for Berkshire - known as the Royal Berkshire Fire Authority (RBFA). These unitaries are: West Berkshire Council; Reading Borough Council; Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead; Slough Borough Council; Wokingham Borough Council; and Bracknell Forest Borough Council.
