ContactPoint Fair Processing Notice
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) will disclose information to the Department for
Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) for inclusion on ContactPoint. ContactPoint is an electronic
directory that will hold basic information on all children and young people in England up to their
18th birthday.
ContactPoint will help people who work with children to quickly find out who else is working with the same child, making it easier to deliver more coordinated support.
ContactPoint will only hold:
Only people who need to use ContactPoint as part of their job to help support children and young people will have access to it. These people will have undergone mandatory training and passed security checks before being granted access. Users will have a user name, a password, a PIN and a security token to access the system.
To ensure it is accurate, ContactPoint will draw information from a number of sources. Section 12 of the Children Act 2004 and the supporting Regulations provide the legislative basis for this system.

- Contact details for parents or carers;
- Contact details of educational setting (e.g. school);
