Duty System
Fire Stations are crewed by a rotating watch duty system of operational personnel, where these watches work the following 2:2:4 duty system:

Two days of 09:00 - 18:00
Two nights of 18:00 - 09:00
Four days off-duty

This means that if you want to speak to a firefighter whose Watch has just completed a tour of duty, they will not be available until they are back on duty four days later. We do not contact staff who are off duty with regard to media requests.

When to Contact
To minimise disruption to operational duties, we ask that calls to fire stations are made only between the following times:

Mornings: between 08:15 and 08:45
Afternoons: between 17:15 and 17:45

If you miss these time slots, please call the Press Office during office hours for assistance.
