Welcome from Councillor Rodney Rose, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Fire and Community Safety
Thank you for your interest in the position of Deputy Chief Fire Officer in Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service.
As Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member with responsibility for Community Safety and Fire and Rescue, I am hugely proud of the service we provide and the difference it is making to the lives of people in Oxfordshire. The Council is committed to delivering “a thriving Oxfordshire for everyone”, and the community safety and fire and rescue service are working as part of this integrated “one council” approach to delivering effective and efficient services to our communities which improve public safety.
The Council is seeking an individual with the capacity, commitment and capability to assist the Chief Fire Officer to drive and deliver transformational change across our organisation. The role of the Deputy Chief Fire Officer is fundamental to the continuing delivery of our 365 alive and corporate vision and will require a transformational leader with a proven record of delivery.
I firmly believe Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service to be one of the lowest cost and highest performing fire and rescue services in the country and we are looking to appoint a DCFO, who will ensure our services remain at the highest standard, for years to come.
It is an exciting time to take on the role and the successful candidate will become part of our corporate and service leadership team, working alongside Councillors to deliver a broad range of important outcomes for local communities.
I look forward to receiving your application.
Councillor Rodney Rose
Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Fire and Community Safety
