An exciting opportunity has arisen for several Group Manager positions across Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS). We are seeking individuals of exceptional calibre to be part of a progressive and forward thinking management team focused on delivering high standards through efficient and effective services to the people of Berkshire.

Applicants will be highly motivated competent Station Managers who are open to change and are looking for an opportunity to lead and develop within RBFRS.

These positions will be an ideal career move for an ambitious middle manager who is people focused, able to drive forward change in a complex and dynamic organisation, with proven leadership and communication skills and a passion for improving and delivering services to the public, along with an understanding of the wider issues affecting the sector.

We have 18 stations covering an area of around 125,914 hectares, from Slough and Langley in the east along the M4 corridor to Lambourn and Newbury in the west. We employ more than 600 staff serving a population of approximately 860,000 people.

Application Process

Applicants will be expected to detail their personal skills, qualities and attributes against the relevant Job Profile.  Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to attend a role based exercise, interview and assessment exercise and Level 3 Operational Assessment. The successful candidate will be required to pass all elements in order to be appointed.
