DESCRIPTION:Whilst there is no typical day in this job\, this session will provide you with an overview of the role of a modern Firefighter. \n\n\n\nThe learning outcomes for this session are: \n\n\n\nMaking an informed decision – is this the career for me? \n\n\n\nUnderstand the role of a firefighter\, what the job entails and the demands of the job. \n\n\n\nUnderstand the shift patterns\, structure and daily routines. \n\n\n\nUnderstand the training and requirements for the apprenticeship. \n\n\n\nUnderstand the fitness requirements and physical tests. \n\n\n\nExperience of the practical elements associated with the fitness requirement including the physical tests at recruitment.

DESCRIPTION:This Sunday (8 June)\, firefighters at Slough Fire Station will be hosting a charity car wash in memory of Martyn Sadler\, Jennie Logan and Dave Chester\, who tragically lost their lives during the incident in Bicester in May. \n\n\n\nThe fundraising event will be held between 10am and 4pm. \n\n\n\nThe suggested minimum donation is £5 per car\, with all donations going to the Fire Fighters Charity.
