Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) took part in the first tri-emergency service career Insight Day on 24 September, alongside South Central Ambulance Service and Thames Valley Police.
The event was arranged to show members of the Armed Forces, who are due to leave soon, what each emergency service can offer them as a future career.
Che Scott, who is RBFRS’s Armed Forces Liaison Lead, said: “The traits common to HM Armed Forces can only enrich the modern fire and rescue service and add to our already motivated and professional staff. The array of skills and formative training that they receive will help us in achieving greater things and essentially aid us in helping to serve the people of Berkshire.”
The event confirms our commitment to help support employment pathways for people leaving the Forces. In August this year, RBFRS received the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award. RBFRS will now continue to work towards the Gold Award.
The Insight Day was held at Sulhamstead Police College and was co-ordinated by the Career Transition Partnership (CTP).
