RBFRS takes a look back

To say Merry Christmas and thank you to the people we serve, we want to show some of the work we’ve been doing over the last 12 months. Everything that we do is to ensure that we are providing our communities with the best possible service.

From April 2018 to 2019, we attended 7,949 incidents, conducted 1,142 fire safety audits and carried out 11,267 Safe and Well Visits to those who are most vulnerable in our community.

We also began rebuilding Crowthorne Fire Station to become the second Tri-Service Community Fire Station in Royal Berkshire and modernised our Firehouse, which is our primarily training facility for firefighters.

We’ve also attended and supported events within the local community to help more people consider a career within the fire and rescue service. The events included Reading Pride and visiting schools to give safety advice to students. Whilst also growing our partnership with the Leonard Cheshire’s Change100 programme where we work with talented graduates with disabilities or long-term health conditions.

The success of our last year was formally recognised when we were inspected by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services in January 2019, which confirmed RBFRS as ‘good’ across all three areas (effectiveness, efficiency and people) recently inspected.

If you’d like to find out more about any of the work mentioned in this video, our Annual Report can be found here: rbfrs.co.uk/annual-report
