Events Volunteer – various locations

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is committed to engaging local communities. Our Firefighters, support staff and volunteers participate in a huge variety of events each year.

We have opportunities for a number of enthusiastic volunteers across with excellent communication skills to Represent Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service at events that we host at Fire Stations as well as events we attend within the community.

The type of events we host include:

  • Fire Station Open Days and Car Washes
  • Awards Ceremonies
  • Blood Donation Clinics
  • Community Awareness Raising events
  • Conferences
  • Fire and Road Safety events
  • Passing Out Parades

Each event is different and activities required for each event will vary, you will be advised what is needed in advance of each event and you will have the opportunity to choose which events you attend.

Activities include:

  • Promoting Fire, Road and Water Safety information
  • Collecting donations for the Fire Fighter Charity
  • Welcoming guests and providing directions
  • Helping to set up
  • General events assistance including providing refreshments
  • Talking to members of the public

You will receive a uniform, RBFRS ID and training relevant to your role. RBFRS will reimburse reasonable out of pocket expenses.
