Recommendation 12:

By 1 March 2024, chief fire officers should provide assurances to HMICFRS that they have implemented the standard on staff disclosure, complaint and grievance handling.

RBFRS action: Gap analysis being undertaken to identify further actions for review

Existing processes are in place to support misconduct allegations and a detailed gap analysis is being undertaken to identify if further actions are needed. In the interim there has been greater use of external HR professionals and investigative interview teams alongside employment law, investigation and hearing training for managers up to and including SLT level.
