Recommendation 3

By 1 June 2023, chief fire officers should review the support available for those who have raised concerns and take any action needed to make sure these provisions are suitable.​ 

RBFRS action: We have adapted the Grievance, Bullying and Harassment Policy to ensure that reference is made to providing (as appropriate) welfare support for those making a complaint as well as those that are the subject of a complaint.  HR have also amended guidance notes for welfare officers, as well as developed a checklist for welfare officers in order that they can signpost support mechanisms to staff.
