Aircraft Incident in Maidenhead

At 3:44pm on Tuesday, 3 March, we received a call from South Central Ambulance Service to reports of an incident involving an aircraft at White Waltham Airfield on Waltham Road in Maidenhead.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Maidenhead and Windsor fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the 4-wheel drive vehicle from Maidenhead Fire Station and one Officer. One Officer from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service was also sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a crash involving one light aircraft. One person was placed in the care of the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) and South Central Ambulance Service. Due to leaking fuel, crews contacted the Environment Agency and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Board, before using sand to absorb the fuel and making the electrics on the aircraft safe.

Crews were on scene for approximately one hour and one minute.
