Fire Safety Enforcement for Responsible Persons and Businesses

In order to discharge its requisite duties under the Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005 the Royal Berkshire Fire Authority (RBFA) has a Fire Safety Enforcement Policy that serves to deliver a consistent but fair and transparent approach when ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations in respect of fire safety in commercial premises.

The enforcement policy is underpinned by RBFA adopting Legislative Enforcement Guidance which offers advice to Enforcing Authorities to assist delivering appropriate standards of Regulatory Enforcement.

In line with this Guidance, RBFA has a commitment to work with the business sector in achieving this and to ensure a more consistent approach and transparency whenever enforcement action is taken in dealing with non-compliance under fire safety regulations.
