COVID Secure

Background

A priority for us at Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is taking responsible steps to protect our communities and staff from the potential risk of COVID-19 and continue to provide our services to the people of Royal Berkshire in a safe and effective way.

In line with the Government advice and guidance, the Service has identified and implemented effective COVID control measures throughout the coronavirus outbreak.

More recently, the Government published workplace specific guidance, which allows us to formally confirm that we have complied with the Government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 – making our sites ‘COVID Secure’.

One of the steps to enabling us to confirm our sites as ‘COVID Secure’ is the completion of a Risk Assessment. As a Service, we have consulted with staff and representative bodies on the Risk Assessment to ensure that we have documented all practical steps which identify and manage the risk of transmission.

The following Risk Assessment provides comprehensive detail on the ongoing measures that have been implemented in our workplaces.  On this basis, we are able to announce that our sites are ‘COVID secure’.

NOTE: Detailed guidance on working safely has published on Siren [our intranet]. Health and safety and operations bulletins, are available on the dedicated coronavirus pages on Siren [our intranet].
