School Visits

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is limiting non-essential contact with the public to help control the spread of Coronavirus and ensure our teams continue to be available to respond to emergencies.

In light of this, we have taken the decision to temporarily postpone all non-essential activities, including school visits. We will update you as the situation progresses at rbfrs.co.uk/coronavirus

Firefighters and members of the Prevention department’s Safety Education Team regularly go into schools as part of planned visits to talk to pupils about fire safety, providing age-appropriate, exciting activities and information.

Visits include Key Stage two fire safety activity delivered to Year 5. Key Stage three road and water safety delivered to Year 7. Further work may be undertaken in secondary schools as part of the tutorial or Personal, Social and Health Education provision (PSHE), providing classroom and activity sessions.
