Animal Rescue in Newbury

At 8:10am on Thursday, 17 July, we received reports of an animal in distress on an unnamed road near Hangman’s Stone Lane in Newbury.

One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Newbury Fire Station was sent to the scene, alongside two Officers and two crews from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Upon arrival, crews found a cow stuck in an underground water tank. With assistance from a vet, crews rescued the cow and safely placed it in the care of the vet.

They were on scene for approximately three hours and 25 minutes.
