Animal Rescue in Reading

At 1:15pm on Friday, 8 August, we received reports of an animal in need of rescue on Whistley Mill Lane in Hurst, Reading.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Whitley Wood and Bracknell fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Animal Rescue Unit from Caversham Road Fire Station, the Heavy Rescue Unit from Theale Community Fire Station, and two Officers.

Upon arrival, crews found a Shetland pony stuck in some mud. Crews safely rescued the pony from the mud, before placing it in the care of the owner and advising that they see a vet.

They were on scene for approximately one hour and 30 minutes.
