At 3:14pm on Saturday, 16 August, we received reports of an animal in need of rescue on Eaton Place in Reading.
One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Caversham Road Fire Station was sent to the scene, alongside the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station.
Upon arrival, crews found one magpie stuck in some netting. Crews used the Aerial Ladder Platform to reach the magpie and rescue it from the netting, before safely placing it in the care of the RSPCA.
They were on scene for approximately 45 minutes.
