At 3:21pm on Wednesday, 16 July, we received reports of a fire on Crookham Hill in Thatcham.
Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found fire from a controlled burn had spread to a barn. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hose reels and one main jet to put out the fire, before using a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and make the scene safe.
They were on scene for approximately one hour and 44 minutes.
One crew from Newbury Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection, where they found one hotspot and dampened it down using one hose reel.
