Field Fire in Thatcham

At 1:45pm on Monday, 28 July, we received reports of a fire in the open near Folly View in Thatcham.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside the 4×4 vehicle from Mortimer Fire Station, one Officer and one crew from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Upon arrival, crews found a field fire affecting stubble and hedgerow. Firefighters used four hose reels and beaters to put out the fire and make the scene safe.

They were on scene for approximately three hours and 12 minutes.
