At 6:17am on Sunday, 20 April, we received reports of a fire at a block of flats on Shinfield Road in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Caversham Road, Whitley Wood, Theale, Bracknell and Mortimer fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station and one Officer.
Upon arrival, crews found a kitchen fire on the second floor of the premises. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two jets to put out the fire, before using a ventilation fan to clear smoke from the premises and make the scene safe.
They were on scene for approximately two hours.
