Fire in Slough

At 3:12pm on Thursday, 9 October, we received reports of a fire on Greystoke Road in Slough.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Slough, Windsor, Langley, Maidenhead and Ascot fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitely Wood Fire Station and five Officers.

Two crews from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and a crew from London Fire Brigade (LFB) also responded to the incident, alongside an additional Aerial Ladder Platform from LFB.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in a low-rise block of flats. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used three hose reels, two main jets and an Aerial Ladder Platform to extinguish the fire. Two people were taken into the care of South Central Ambulance Service at the scene.

Crews were at scene for approximately six hours and 19 minutes.

A crew from Slough Fire Station returned to the scene the following morning to inspect for any hotspots and an investigation to determine the cause of the fire is now underway.
