At 6:48pm on Thursday, 19 March, we received reports of a fire near Rose Kiln Lane in Reading.
A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Caversham Road Fire Station was sent to the scene alongside three Officers.
On arrival, crews discovered a fire in the open. Firefighters used a CO2 extinguisher and a backpack extinguisher to put the fire out.
Tragically, one person was found to have passed away at the scene. Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
Crews were at the scene for approximately three hours and 10 minutes before handing the scene over to Thames Valley Police.
