Fire in Maidenhead

At 9:33pm on Sunday, 23 November, we received reports of a fire on Station Hill in Cookham, Maidenhead.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Maidenhead, Slough, Crowthorne, Mortimer, Bracknell and Wokingham Road fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside an Incident Command Unit from Maidenhead Fire Station and two Officers. Two crews from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were also sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a fire in the basement area of the building that had also affected the ground and first floors. All people were accounted for. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used three hose reels, two main jets, and one hydrant to put out the fire, before using ventilation fans to clear the smoke from the property.

They were on scene for approximately six hours and 14 minutes.

One crew from Maidenhead Fire Station and one Officer later returned to the scene for a reinspection.
