Fire in Newbury

At 10:24am on Saturday, 21 February, we received reports of a fire on Long Lane in Newbury.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside one Officer and one crew from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.

Upon arrival, crews found a fire in the loft space of the property. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire and make the scene safe. Crews gave immediate emergency care to one person.

They were on scene for approximately one hour and 47 minutes.

One crew from Newbury Fire Station later returned to the scene for a reinspection, where they found no further signs of fire.
