Fire in Newbury

At 4:33pm on Friday, 22 August, we received reports of a fire on Lambourn Road in Newbury.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside one crew from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Upon arrival, crews found a small fire in a loft caused by a lightbulb touching a bee’s nest. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus removed the bee’s nest from the property and used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and make the scene safe.

They were on scene for approximately one hour and 14 minutes.
