At 11:55pm on Wednesday, 24 December, we received reports of a fire on Marshall Close in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Whitley Wood, Theale and Caversham Road fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a small fire in the hallway of the property. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire, before using a ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the property and make the scene safe.
They were on scene for approximately 53 minutes.
