At 3:49pm on Wednesday, 27 August, we received reports of a fire on Ramsbury Road near Lambourn Woodlands.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Newbury, Hungerford and Mortimer fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an aerial ladder platform, two Officers and crews from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in a grain silo containing over 70 tonnes of grain. Firefighters used three main jets and two hose reels to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters were at the scene for approximately six hours and 15 minutes before returning later to check for hotspots.
