At 8:39pm on Thursday, 14 August, we received reports of a fire in the open near Enborne Road in Newbury.
Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside one Officer and one crew from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
Upon arrival, crews found a bonfire had spread across three gardens and began affecting a railway line embankment. Firefighters used four hose reels and one main jet to put out the fire and make the scene safe.
They were on scene for approximately one hour and 54 minutes.
One crew from Newbury Fire Station later returned to the scene twice for reinspections.
