At 12:10pm on Monday, 6 October, we received reports of a fire in a high-rise building on Oxford Road in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a small kitchen fire in a third floor flat was out on arrival. Firefighters used small gear to remove the extractor hood and affected kitchen units for safety, before using a ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the property.
They were on scene for approximately 50 minutes.
