At 6:02am on Wednesday, 14 January, we received a call from Network Rail to reports of a freight train fire on Station Road in Kintbury, Hungerford.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hungerford, Theale and Newbury Fire Stations were sent to the scene, alongside one crew from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, and one crew from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Upon arrival, crews found one train with a blown engine. Crews checked the vehicle over to ensure the scene was safe and found no signs of fire. The incident was handed to Network Rail.
Crews were on scene for approximately one hour.
