At 10:18am on Wednesday, 1 October, we received a call from South Central Ambulance Service to reports of an incident on High Street in Twyford.
One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Caversham Road Fire Station were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, the crew found a person was stuck in a confined space in the basement stairway. The crew used working at height equipment to rescue the person and safely place them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
They were on scene for approximately 38 minutes.
