At 7:41am on Thursday, 18 December, we received a call from South Central Ambulance Service to reports of a road traffic collision on the A34 northbound between East Ilsley and Chilton.
Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside the Heavy Rescue Unit from Theale Community Fire Station, one Officer, and one crew from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Upon arrival, crews found a road traffic collision between two lorries with one person trapped. Crews rescued the person from the vehicle and placed them in the care of Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS). Crews assisted with scene safety, before handing the scene over to Thames Valley Police.
Crews were on scene for approximately one hour and six minutes.
