At 8:43am on Monday, 2 March, we received a call from Thames Valley Police to reports of a vehicle on fire on the M4 westbound between Junction 11 and Three Mile Cross and Junction 12 in Theale.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Whitley Wood, Wokingham Road and Caversham Road fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found a road traffic collision involving three cars. Crews made the scene safe, before handing the scene over to Thames Valley Police and National Highways.
Crews were on scene for approximately 23 minutes.
