Car Fire on M4(W)

At 12:40am on Monday, 2 March, we received reports of a vehicle on fire at Reading Services on the M4 westbound.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Whitley Wood, Theale and Caversham Road fire stations were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found one car on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire. They were on scene for approximately 40 minutes.

At 2:29am, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations returned to the scene, alongside one Officer when the car reignited.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire. Crews then escorted the recovery vehicle carrying the car to a local recovery yard.

They were on scene for approximately two hours and 41 minutes.
