At 8:28am on Tuesday, 17 March, we received reports of a vehicle on fire on the A404M northbound between Holyport and Maidenhead Thicket.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Windsor, Maidenhead and Slough fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found one lorry cab with overheated brakes and wheel bearings. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature of the vehicle, before deeming the vehicle safe once it had cooled. Crews assisted in making the scene safe, before handing the scene over to National Highways and a recovery mechanic.
They were on scene for approximately 25 minutes.
