At 4:12pm on Thursday, 8 January, we received reports of a vehicle fire on the A34 northbound between Chieveley and East Ilsley.
Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station and one crew from Theale Fire Station were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found one car on fire. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and fire block foam to put out the fire and make the scene safe. The incident was handed over to National Highways.
Crews were on scene for approximately 53 minutes.
