At 7:10am on Friday, 7 November, we received a call from National Highways to reports of a vehicle fire on the M4 Eastbound between Junction 10 in Winnersh and Junction 8.9 in Holyport.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood, Wokingham and Maidenhead fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Water Carrier from Bracknell Fire Station.
Upon arrival, crews found a lorry with overheated brakes. Firefighters used one hose reel to dampen down the affected brakes and used a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature and make the scene safe. The scene was handed over to National Highways.
They were on scene for approximately 28 minutes.
