At 2:11pm on Saturday, 20 September, we received a call from Thames Valley Police to reports of a vehicle fire on the M4 Westbound between Junction 11 in Three Mile Cross and Junction 12 in Theale.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Whitley Wood, Wokingham Road and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found one car on fire. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel to put out the fire, before handing the scene over to National Highways.
They were on scene for approximately 26 minutes.
