At 2:42pm on Friday, 20 February, we received reports of vehicle on fire on the M4 westbound between Junction 8/9 in Holyport and Junction 10 in Winnersh.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Slough, Maidenhead and Windsor fire stations were sent to the scene.
Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle on fire. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and assisted the driver, before handing the scene over to National Highways and Thames Valley Police.
Crews were at the scene for approximately 29 minutes.
