Waste Fire in Newbury

At 6:40am on Monday, 4 August, we received reports of a vehicle on fire on Station Approach in Newbury.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a fire involving waste removed from a bin lorry. Firefighters used two hose reels and a thermal imaging camera to put out the fire and make the scene safe, before handing the scene over to West Berkshire Council.

They were on scene for approximately 24 minutes.
