Boat Rescue in Reading

At 2:19pm on Wednesday, 11 February, we received reports of a boat requiring rescue near Caversham Bridge in Reading.

One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Wokingham Road Fire Station was sent to the scene, alongside the Water Rescue Unit from Caversham Road Fire Station and one Officer.

Upon arrival, crews found one boat heavily taking in water. Crews attempted to pump the water out using a light portable pump. The boat became submerged due to the amount of water, however crews were able to safely and securely moor the vehicle. Crews then informed the Environment Agency of the incident.

Crews were on scene for approximately one hour and 11 minutes.
