At 8:01pm on Thursday, 18 September, we received reports of a boat requiring rescue near Fobney Lock in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer and the Water Rescue Unit from Caversham Road Fire Station.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a narrowboat had come adrift. Firefighters helped to recover the boat before securely mooring it.
Crews were at the scene for approximately 45 minutes.
