At 7:13pm on Monday, 22 December, we were called by Thames Valley Police to a report of a person in the water near Caversham Bridge in Reading.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wokingham Road, Whitley Wood, and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene, together with the Water Rescue Unit from Caversham Road and two Officers.
Upon arrival, crews assisted Police and South Central Ambulance Service in searching for a person in the River Thames for 90 minutes, following an unconfirmed report of a person in the water.
Crews were on the scene for approximately 1 hour and 29 minutes, and the incident was handed over to Thames Valley Police.
