About the Scheme
The Summer Internship Scheme is aimed at 16 and 17 year old residents of Berkshire who are from ethnic groups that are currently under-represented within our Service.
You can find out more about why we have launched this scheme in the FAQs document. It is a paid internship and gives young people a fantastic opportunity to begin to develop their workplace skills and discover the opportunities available in a modern fire and rescue service, at the stage when they may be beginning to think about their future careers.
Through a tailored programme of activity, as well as career development workshops and learning sessions, the short-term summer internship supports interns in gaining transferable skills and real-world experience for their future education or career ambitions, whatever these may be.
