At 4:16pm on Thursday, 28 May, we received reports of an animal in need of rescue on an unnamed road near Winterbourne Road in Newbury.

One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Newbury Fire Station was sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, the crew found seven ducklings stuck in a drain, before safely rescuing them.

The crew were on scene for approximately 21 minutes.
