Animal Rescue in Reading

At 9:27am on Friday, 6 June, we received a call from Thames Valley Police to reports of animals in need of rescue on Brimpton Road in Midgham, Reading.

Two Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to the scene, alongside the Animal Rescue Unit from Caversham Road Fire Station.

Upon arrival, crews found two cows in the river. One of the cows managed to exit the water by itself, while the other cow was rescued with assistance from the crews. Both cows were safely placed in the care of farmers.

They were on scene for approximately 28 minutes.
