At 9:50pm on Thursday, 1 October, we received reports of an animal in need of rescue on Kennet Side in Reading.

One Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Wokingham Road Fire Station was sent to the scene, alongside the Animal and Water Rescue Unit from Caversham Road Fire Station.

Upon arrival, crews found a cat stuck in a tree that was overhanging the water. They safely rescued the cat, before reuniting it with its owner.

Crews were on scene for approximately 27 minutes.
