At 9:55am on Friday, 31 July, we received reports of a fire on Rosedale Gardens in Thatcham.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station.

On arrival, crews discovered a fire in a bedroom that had spread into a loft. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire before ventilating smoke from the property with a fan.

Crews were at the scene for approximately two hours and 20 minutes.
