At 8:10pm on Friday, 20 December, we received reports of a fire on Beancroft Road in Thatcham.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newbury and Theale fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in the living room of a bungalow. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus rescued one person and a dog from the property before extinguishing the fire with a hose reel. Crews provided immediate emergency care to the person before placing them in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
Crews were at the scene for approximately one hour and 34 minutes. An investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.
